As summer approaches, children in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire can look forward to an action-packed season with the return of the popular Schools Out Summer Camp. With registration opening on Wednesday, 12th March, this year’s camp promises to be the best yet, offering a perfect blend of fun, friendship, and new experiences for children and young people aged 6-16 years.

What’s New This Year?

Schools Out Summer Camp 2025 is set to be better than ever, with an expanded and thrilling lineup of activities to keep every camper engaged. Running from 14th July to 8th August at ISA’s campus on North Deeside Road, the camp offers flexible enrolment options, allowing children to join for one, two, three, or all four weeks.

Known for its vibrant mix of activities, the camp will feature a variety of sports and creative outlets, including swimming, climbing, tennis, football, gymnastics, and art, as well as drama, dance, and cooking. But this year, something special is driving up the excitement.

Electric Race Cars

For the first time ever, Schools Out Summer Camp will introduce electric race cars, offering a thrilling new experience for campers. “Electric race cars will be a fun and engaging way to spark some healthy competition with the thrill and fun of a race”, said Mark DeGraw, ISA’s PE teacher.

A Camp Full of Adventure

In addition to racing fun, campers will also have the chance to enjoy nature-based activities like building campfires and toasting marshmallows, allowing them to connect with the outdoors in a safe and supervised environment. The camp provides all-inclusive meals throughout the day, ensuring the children stay nourished while enjoying their activities.

“The camp is designed to keep children active and stimulated and is a place where they can relax and have fun, as well as providing a great opportunity for personal growth, skill development and lasting friendships,” explained Mark. This blend of activities is perfect for supporting both personal growth and physical fitness.
