IB 2 Visual Art Students showcase final Artwork.
Our International Baccalaureate (IB) 2 Visual Art Students have created a website to showcase their artwork developed over the last two years as part of their final exam.
The exhibition encompasses each student’s particular area of their interest that has been researched throughout their two-year course. A core element of an IB education is student agency and the ability to self-learn. In line with this approach, our students self-directed the techniques and mediums chosen to create and present their work. They also created a Process Portfolio documenting their progression, research methods and actions taken to create final pieces art.
This year was more challenging as students faced lockdown restrictions and creating their Portfolios and Exhibition Pieces from home. Unphased with their limited supplies, each student adapted and overcame any issues, and the end result is outstanding.
ISA Art Teacher, Nicolina Rea commented:
“Over the course of the two years, it is incredible to see the growth in the level of maturity and strength shown in our students’ work. The last 12-months in particular has not been without its challenges, but a huge well done to Hannah, Myah, Juhuy, and Hannah on completing their exam – a true testament to the resilience, personal growth and sheer hard work put in by of these young artists.”
In typical ISA style, we have displayed all artwork for the IB Visual Arts Exhibition for all to see. For those with access to the school, you can check out the impressive pieces on our mezzanine area at the top of the main stairwell from ‘The Street’.
Alternatively, an informative website has been created so you can experience our Virtual Exhibition instead: https://sites.google.com/isa.aberdeen.sch.uk/ibvisualarts/home
