ISA welcomes Artwork from Scottish Artist Peter Howson, OBE
We are honoured to have welcomed the arrival of an inspiring piece of artwork from Scottish artist Peter Howson, OBE.
The 8 x 6 ft oil painting, titled ‘The World is on Fire’, is now proudly hanging on display in our reception area until June 2022, thanks to the combined efforts of Burn O’Bennie Distillery, Robertson Fine Art and ISA’s Art Department.
The work of art received by ISA this week is the final in a series, representing the importance of a greener future - something we are committed here to at ISA. It depicts a hopeful message of two young ‘visionaries’ leading the way towards saving the planet.
Nick Little, Head of School, ISA, said the artwork is a welcome addition to ISA,
“We are delighted to be showcasing one of Scotland’s most prominent artists who has dedicated his time and creativity to this important project. The painting captures very relevant issues we face today as we all work to find ways to tackle climate change.
As a school, we are committed to sustainability and supporting our students to develop a passion for protecting our planet. Our young people have an incredible knowledge and awareness of the climate change movement and how sustainability issues will affect our future.
I would like to extend a grateful thanks to all involved in bringing this significant piece of contemporary art to ISA.”
We are absolutely delighted that our community will be able to enjoy the powerful piece of artwork from such a talented Scottish artist, whilst our students continue to engage with the wider issues surrounding the impacts of climate change.
