Our Preschool (nursery) provides excellent care for children from age 3, in a unique indoor and outdoor setting. We are aware that many families look for a nursery or school that not only offers a high standard of education but also affordable and flexible care around core times.
Therefore, from August 2025, we will have our own programme of care for all students until 6:00pm, known as Encore!
As part of this, we have also been developing our Preschool provision more widely, to include options from 8am - 6pm, both term-time and all year round. We will retain our flexibility with 3, 4 and 5 day options available.
We are thrilled to announce that, from August 2025, ISA will be entering into partnership with Aberdeen City Council. This means we will be able to offer 1140 hours of ELC (Early learning & childcare) funded provision. This funding will be available during term time, from 8:00am - 2:10pm, Monday to Friday, with lunch provided as part of the funded hours.
We will therefore have three tiers of nursery programme available for families to choose from.
ISA Preschool 8am - 2.10pm, Monday to Friday, term-time - a fully funded option through ELC hours
ISA Preschool Encore! 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday, term-time - partially funded through ELC hours
ISA Preschool Encore+ 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday, all year - partially funded through ELC hours

Our Head of Preschool, Andrea Taylor, has worked at ISA for over 30 years and leads the team of caring staff who look after your child while they are here.
Andrea is supported by a team of Early Years Practitioners who support the children and put their needs first when developing activities that meet their interests.
One advantage of being part of ISA is that the children have access to the facilities and staff of the wider school, and they make the most of this with regular visits to the gym, sports pitches and library as well as the specialist music teacher visiting preschool twice a week.
Located in Pitfodels, near Cults, on the North Deeside Road there is easy access & plenty of car parking for drop off and pick up.
Our setting has to be seen to be believed! When you visit you will enter through our private entrance and immediately see the hillside garden which children have access to. With a flat play area suitable for bikes, loose parts play and other activities, a grass hill with mud kitchen, slide, performance teepee and other apparatus built-in, and some lovely wooded spaces for children to safely explore - you might even get to visit the linked 'secret garden'!
When you enter, the indoor area is just as impressive: a large central space with each area linking into the next, a central pod for quiet times and a garden room all provide ample space for the multitude of child-led activities that take place here - and don't forget the kitchen where the birthday tradition of making your own cup cakes with friends is something talked about with anticipation all year long!
We would love to arrange for you to visit and see it for yourself!
