Strides ahead of core academic skills
IB is the fastest growing curriculum in the world. It is a balanced academic two-year programme of education for students aged 16 to 19 in preparation for going to university. Studies are categorised into;
A Theory of Knowledge presentation and a 4000 word Extended Essay are also included in the curriculum as well as Creativity, Activity and Service programme requirements.
The IB aims to "develop inquiring knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right".
The programme is highly regarded by government agencies and universities alike. In fact, UK universities ranked the IB Diploma at 94% for encouraging independent inquiry, against less than 50% for A Levels and Scottish Highers.
