ISA Scholarships
Our ISA Scholarship Programme offers a supportive opportunity for students driven by intellectual curiosity or sporting talent. We provide the nurturing environment and expert guidance needed to thrive as a valued and active member of our vibrant school community.
Our scholarships are our way of celebrating talent and helping students thrive. They include an automatic 10% fee reduction. It is important to note that scholarships are separate from our fee assistance programme. However, families needing support beyond the 10% discount are encouraged to discuss applying for supplemental fee assistance

															S1 Scholarships
We invite Primary 7 students to apply for our S1 Scholarship.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students who want to join our kind, inclusive community and develop their personal wellbeing and academic abilities at our IB world school.
This scholarship isn’t about being perfect in one area; in the spirit of the IB, we value the whole person. We are looking for students who demonstrate they are caring, open-minded, and balanced, and who are eager to make a positive contribution to our school community.
Sports Scholarships
We invite talented young athletes to apply for our Sports Scholarship, with entry available into Primary 5, S1, or S3 in August 2026. This scholarship provides an ideal pathway for students to join our kind, inclusive community and excel in their chosen sport within the supportive environment of our IB world school.
We are looking for enthusiastic young athletes – whether they are dedicated specialists in one sport or talented all-rounders – who show a genuine passion for physical activity. They should be balanced, principled in their approach to sportsmanship, and risk-takers who are willing to challenge themselves.
Deeside Scholarships
Three of our S1 scholarships will be named to honour the links with our local primary schools who regularly send students to ISA. These will be:
North Deeside Scholarship: Student joining directly from Culter, Milltimber, Cults, Ferryhill, Airyhall, Ashley Road or Broomhill Primary
South Deeside Scholarship: Student joining directly from Lairhillock or Banchory Devenick Primary
Royal Deeside Scholarship: Student joining directly from Durris, Drumoak, Banchory, Hill of Banchory, Aboyne or Ballater Primary
How to Apply
The application form contains basic details and an opportunity for you to tell us a little about the student applying. As part of this, the student is asked to provide a short statement, as follows:
For S1 Scholarship Applicants: Tell Us About You!
Tell us about the things you’re passionate about. What subjects do you love in school? What hobbies do you enjoy? Maybe you’re a talented artist, a coding whiz, a great debater, or a caring friend. Whatever it is, let us know what you’re interested in and what you feel your strengths are.
For Sports Scholarship Applicants: Tell Us About Your Sport!
This is your opportunity to tell us all about your passion for sports. What sports do you love to play? Are you dedicated to one main sport, or are you an all-rounder who loves playing a few different things? Let us know what teams you play for (at school or a local club) and any experience you have. You can also mention anything you’re particularly proud of, like a competition you took part in or a time you showed great sportsmanship.
The application form must be submitted by January 10th 2026.
The Discovery Day
Following your application, you will be invited to our Discovery Day on Saturday 17th January 2026.
This will be a relaxed get-together with some fun activities. It is our chance to get to know you, see your personality shine, and find out what you’re passionate about, while you get a chance to discover more about life at ISA. Our main goal is to make the process itself an enjoyable and valuable experience for everyone involved.
Welcome & Settling In: When you arrive at 11am, you’ll join in some fun games to help you settle in. Your parents are welcome to stay for coffee, a chat, and a tour of the school.
Morning Activities: After settling in, you’ll join your group activity:
- Primary 5 (Sports) applicants will head off for their first sports session.
- S1 & S3 (all applicants) will join some of our current students for a teamwork challenge.

Lunch: Everyone comes together for a pizza-making lunch, followed by open games and activities. During this time, you’ll also have a chance for a brief, informal one-to-one chat with a member of our team relevant to your application (either sports or academic).
Afternoon & Finish:
- Primary 5 (Sports) applicants: Your day finishes just after lunch, and your parents can collect you.
- S1 & S3 (Sports) applicants: You will take part in a group sports activity after lunch. Your day will end in the mid-afternoon, when your parents can collect you.
- S1 Scholarship applicants: You are welcome to stay and enjoy the sports activity, or to be collected by your parents
